Kaka’ako on the Move…
Ko’ula
Howard Hughes Corporation just received approval for its newest mixed-use condo in Kaka’ako. Ko’ula or Hawaiian for Red Sugar Cane, will be the sixth mixed-use condo developed in Kaka’ako by the Howard Hughes Corporation. Sales for the 41 story, 570-unit tower will begin in late 2018/early 2019 with construction projected to start late 2019. Ko’ula will have studio, one, two and three-bedroom units ranging in size from 300-1500 square feet.
Ko’ula will have a beautiful amenities deck with Bbq’s, cabanas, pool/spa, fitness room, children’s play area and more! If you’ve ever been in a Ward Village condominium, then you know the convenience and entertainment options that come with the resort style amenities in most new Ward Village condos. With Central Plaza phase one slated for completion later this year Ko’ula residents will have over an acre of parks and walkways right outside their doorstep when the building is completed! Proposed plans put the lobby on the second floor, making room for shops and restaurants on the ground level adding to the variety of food/entertainment options. This allows for the best of both worlds, grab a bite to eat from the ground floor then take the elevator up one floor to eat and relax in the comfort and privacy of your own lobby/unit.
Like A’ali’i and Ae’o, Ko’ula will have a Mauka/Makai orientation to preserve ocean view plains. However, it will be about a block closer to the ocean as it will be situated between Central Plaza and the Ward Entertainment Center. Ko’ula brings together the heart of Ward Village and the vision of a walkable neighborhood. Once completed step out your door and you literally have 360 degrees of options. Convenience at your doorstep, a block away from Whole Foods, Longs Drugs, and Ward Center and just two blocks away from South Shore Market and world-famous Hawaii beaches!
